The Evolution of SiteSelect Medical

The first generation of the FDA approved SiteSelect Device was introduced to the US market in July 1998 under the company "Imagyn".  This was followed by a period in which the company was managed by competitors such as USSC and Tyco.  In 2002 all USSC, Tyco, and Imagyn patents were consolidated.  

In 2004 the company and all patents were acquired by a group of physicians from South Texas who recognized the potential of image guided excisional biopsy revolutionizing the breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Now, SiteSelect Medical with its new name, investors, and management is taking its technology to the next level by designing the new and innovative Hand-Held Ultrasound Guided Breast Excision device, "Centaur H2". The Centaur H2 will allow physicians to perform diagnostic/therapeutic excisions of the breast lesions without the need for a stereotactic table or general anesthesia, essentially, as an in-office procedure with local anesthesia or as an ambulatory surgery in the operating/procedure room.  

SiteSelect Medical is also enrolled into a multi-center research approved by FDA/WIRB for its therapeutic applications.
